In addition to serving as the General Counsel to Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, Otaño has led numerous civic initiatives to help families and small businesses throughout Brooklyn.

“My parents taught me the values of integrity, respect and hard work; the same ideals that guide families in our community. Unfortunately, our district hasn’t always had representation that reflects these principles. I’m running for the State Assembly to give Brooklynites a clean break from the rotten politics of the past. I will bring the integrity, competence, and reform our district deserves and restore the public trust to our voters. Together, we will win this election and make sure the reprehensible practices of Vito Lopez are replaced by the values that are the real hallmark of this community.”

With Vito Lopez departing the Assembly under threat of expulsion, Otaño wants to ensure that Lopez’ influence does not continue to harm the constituents of the 53^rd Assembly District.
